Roll That Beautiful Dive Footage

Underwater Video Gear for Everyone!

We love underwater video! It's the perfect hobby for a more experienced diver who's ready to start exploring fish/creature identification (critter if you're from Texas). We also find video to be a great tool if you're looking to work on your trim or kick. Have a buddy film you while you're diving and you can almost always find a few things to work on for the next dive. Last but not least, how are you gonna show your buddies all the cool stuff they didn't see on the last dive without the video!  Everything looks bigger underwater you know...

The GoPro Hero 12 Bundle (two higher capacity white "enduro" batteriers included) is the best value that we've found in underwater video. Where else can you start shooting 4k video underwater for less than $500? (Camera Bundle+Dive Housing+Memory Card+Mount) The image stabilization feature is absolutley mind blowing technology. No more shaky underwater video! There are some amazing accessories that can make your GoPro footage even better, but it's pretty darn good straight out of the box.

The GoPro official dive housing is refered to as a "protective housing" and although it doesn't list the Hero 12 in its specs, don't worry, it fits the GoPro Hero 9,10,11, and 12. Rated for 196ft, this thing is remarkably sturdy. Just remember to leave the door open when your not diving so that the o-ring isn't always compressed. Don't be tempted to buy the cheaper imitations either, you'll be risking your footage and your new camera!

Don't forget the memory! We like the 256GB size for shooting (almost) an entire dive trip. I say almost because we've gotten a little shutter happy and wished we had the 512GB version. Seems excessive, but at 4k and 60 fps, it's really not.

The GoScope Rugged Grip is our favorite camera mount for starting out with the GoPro. It's super tough and it works with the GoPro quick release. It has a good strong wrist tether, and it's slightly positively buoyant.

Love to read or listen while you travel? We do too! Try this out!
